Bobbi-Jean + Chase | Newlywed Session | Encouragement In Your Marriage

You might recognize these two from their dreamy wedding that we shot in fall of 2019! Now these two rad people make a second appearance on our blog. It’s not often that we get the privilege to photograph a couple after their wedding day, and we were so thankful for this experience. When planning their wedding and booking us, there was no time to fit in an engagement session due to a short engagement. We offered them a newlywed session instead, and we loved it so much that we now offer it to other clients! With part of the session being at one of our favorite local cafes, Messenger Coffee Co, and then in Bobbi-Jean and Chases new home, it was the best afternoon. They welcomed us into their beautiful new home together, and getting to see their life together and the home they’ve built was so special. So much attention to detail and such a fun vibe! These two have created their own culture in their home, have put Jesus in the center of it, and it was beautiful.

The wedding day is obviously one of the biggest days in a person’s life. So much planning and anticipation all wrapped up into one joyous day. We love seeing the diversity and uniqueness of each one, and the representation of how intricate we are each created. But more than the wedding day, we love seeing our clients putting emphasis on their life after the wedding. After the guests leave and the party ends, it’s your whole lives ahead of you and the covenant that you made to each other. Although we are all for gorgeous weddings, the trendiest wedding won’t equip you for life after the wedding. Premarital counseling, endless, real, raw talks with your significant other about your upcoming life together, and prayer will equip you. You’ll reach a point when the honeymoon season ends, and love is a choice. This is when love in it’s truest form takes shape. Love that is chosen daily, and the kind of love that imitates the Lord’s wild, unconditional love for us. This kind of love gives us understanding to the heart of the Father.

Marriage has been placed passionately on my heart, and the desire to see it thrive and last. The current statistics say enough - people are broken and won’t find what they need in marriage alone. People have a hole in their heart that only Jesus can fill, and it won’t be filled by your spouse or simply being married. In our own marriage we have experienced the deepest valleys as well as the highest mountain tops, and through it all Jesus has been so good to open my eyes to so much. I am not even close to having all the answers, but I am committed to a lifetime of growing and learning and in return, investing in marriages around me.

We were designed for joy in marriage, and have been given the tools needed to be victorious in it. And grace in the process.

I hope you enjoy this peek into Bobbi-Jean and Chase’s new life together!
